Southbound Snake Charmers - Through the Smoke Limited Edition 7"
Emerging in 2013 with southern Aussie mud caking their jeans and their riffs, Melbourne blues trio Southbound Snake Charmers have a new vinyl single out on Australian vigilante label Rue Morgue Records. With a definite tip of the hat to alternative country and Americana from Johnny Cash to Jace Everet, the band stylishly blend a clear love of Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath with a salacious funk smirk always flashing through. 'Dirtier than a roadhouse bathroom', the limited 7" single Through the Smoke is the band's fourth release, crowning two EPs and a full length album. With Chris Denman's vocals likened to Johnny Winter, and dexterous, articulate riffs with definite swagger, the style is bombastic while still dynamic, with Brooke Maloney and Nat Sutphin on drums and bass sending the tracks absolutely rocketing down the highway and into a hot sunset. For fans of Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Radio Moscow, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Thin Lizzy and Clutch, grab a copy of this super-limited single and a piece of Aussie blues history from Rue Morgue Records, and definitely treat yourself to a live set !
Purchasing the 7” Vinyl will also include a digital copy of the ep (once released)
